Information We Collect

We may collect account information, business information, VAT status, turnover figures, accounting connection details, usage data, login activity, device information, and customer support messages.

Where you connect Xero or QuickBooks, we may access accounting data needed to calculate monthly turnover and VAT threshold position. We do not store your Xero or QuickBooks password.

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full payment card details on our servers.

How We Use Your Information

We use information to provide Invatax, calculate VAT threshold indicators, sync accounting data, send reminders, manage subscriptions, prevent misuse, provide support, and comply with legal obligations.

Legal Basis

We process personal data under contractual necessity, legitimate interests, legal obligations, and consent where required.

Data Retention

We retain account data while your account is active. If an account is deleted, we aim to remove or anonymise non-essential account data within 90 days unless we need to retain it for legal, accounting, fraud prevention, or dispute purposes.

Financial and billing records may be retained for up to 6 years where required under UK law.

Sharing Data

We use trusted processors including Supabase, Stripe, Netlify, Resend, Xero, QuickBooks/Intuit, and analytics or support providers where enabled. We do not sell personal data.

Xero and QuickBooks Data

Connected accounting data is used only to provide Invatax functionality, including turnover syncing, VAT threshold calculations, and related reports. You can disconnect integrations from the app or from the provider account.

Your Rights

You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability of your personal data by contacting support@invatax.co.uk.

Security

We use HTTPS, secure authentication, restricted access controls, database protection, and encrypted accounting tokens. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

Complaints

You can contact us first at support@invatax.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
